The first version of ASE tools was released in rvtmod4, and had confusing version numbers. (At least I was confused). Since the ASE tools are released exclusively in the rvtmod package, I decided that the next version (in rvtmod5) will have the same version number as the whole package.

(4) rvtmod7 / ase2rv7: July 29, 2002

Fixed:

• ase2taz / ase2vis crash fixed (listfiles need not to have an empty line at the end).
• ase2w / ase2prm: Setting material's specular color to black disables ENV.

Changed:

• ase2w / ase2prm, -morph mode: SG30 controls ENV for both ase2w and ase2prm.
• ase2w / ase2prm, -morph mode: added additive transparency support (SG 28).
• ase2w / ase2prm, -morph mode: transparency values for SG 23-27 slightly changed.

New:

• Documentation extended with Vertex Normal page and ENV+surface (advanced SG setting) page.

(3) rvtmod6 / ase2rv6: Oct 10, 2001

Fixed:

• Viziboxes / Track Zones created by ase2vis / ase2taz now always has the correct orientation and are never "inside out".
• Corrected maximum Vizibox id (it is 63, not 255).

Changed:

• ase2vis now supports multiple Cameras with the same Camera id. Note that this breaks backward compatibility of Visfiles (a Visfile created for ase2vis v5 must be modified to work with ase2vis v6).
• ase2vis and ase2taz writes more descriptive output to the screen.

(2) rvtmod5 / ase2rv5: July 3, 2001

Fixed:

• Instance and collision (prm and ncp) data created by ase2prm now matches (has the same grip point)

New:

• ASE tools ase2taz and ase2vis (creation of Track Zone and Vizibox files)
• -o option (specifying output file)
• -q option (quiet mode)
• -c option (centering the grip on instances)
